Beautiful, bright & very hot. Arose 7 A.M. Breakfast. Read. To S.S. Taught class of boys. To Church. Dinner. H.H. and I to Burtonsville with horse and wagon and back again. To evening service. Talked. To bed 10 P.M.

Stanford doesn't say why he and Hanford took a horse and wagon to Burtonsville, which is a small town west of Schenectady about 20 miles.
