Rain in A.M. Cleared in P.M. Arose 6 A.M. Breakfast. To classes. Dinner. R.E.P. & I out for hike. Climbed mountain off toward Loon Lake etc. Fine time. Supper. To Song service & meeting. To Dog roast with Scotia bunch. To bed 11 P.M.

So, I guess this is an Institute he's attending, an educational program sponsored by the Epworth League that continues to this day. Below is a picture of a group that went to Mount Hermon in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California in 1919.
